The Way We Were

The Gallery Nightclub gave Soul Control their major break in March 1988. The Gallery created history as the most iconic Soul Nightclub in the UK. Revellers attended from all over the UK and many travelled from abroad to witness and sample the birth of UK Street Soul. The Gallery was a hot, sweaty, ground shaking affair, as Soul Control didn't spare their huge amplifiers or speakers which delivered an eye-popping 10,000 Watts of Bass! Below are some memories from The Legendary Gallery.

Club Havana was Soul Control's first venture into Nightclub ownership. Created in 1998, Club Havana hosted Steppers Presha (Jungle), Sugar & Spice (UK Underground Garage), and Rush which was essentially The Gallery's Saturday Night Soul event but 10 years in the future. Many legendary artists & DJ's appeared at Havana include Goldie, Hype, Jack Frost, EZ, So Solid, Pay-as-U-Go, Trevor Nelson, Tim Westwood, The Dreem Teem and hundreds more. Club Havana ran for 4 years between 1998 - 2002, and it's fair to say, it has never been matched since.
